BTU has an exciting opportunity for a Process Engineer to join its growing Solar Applications Lab. The Process Engineer will be responsible for carrying out experiments and producing test results of state-of-the-art processes for solar applications using BTU thermal equipment. He/She will perform applications tests and experiments to support marketing, sales and engineering. In addition, they will participate in customer demonstrations, trade shows, and industry organizations.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Optimization and characterization of existing solar processes including diffusion and metallization.


• Assist in development of new processes


• Participate in customer demonstrations


• Ensure that the BTU Application Laboratory & equipment is maintained.


• Support the writing and publication of technical articles.


• Participate in trade shows as required

Skills and abilities needed for this position:

• 5-10 years exp. in process development, preferably for solar, semiconductor, or display applications


• Demonstrated use of experimental design and statistical methods


• Experience with chemical laboratory procedures


• Excellent written and oral communication skills Thick film or thin film process experience desirable.


• Education and training BS Degree in chemical Engineering, chemistry, materials science, or equivalent.. Master's level preferred.
