 External Description:

The Nutritional Immunology Laboratory (NIL) investigates the role of dietary components and their interactions with other environmental factors in age-associated changes of the immune and inflammatory responses.

The Research Assistant will work under the supervision of the lab chief and work closely with the lab manager to maintain the lab in a fully functional form.

Responsibilities include:

    * Executing experiments of the studies assigned by the lab chief;
    * Conducting a daily managing work load such as placing orders of supplies and managing budgets;
    * Ensuring the compliance of all the regulations by the lab personnel, and arranging the service when needed;
    * Assisting the lab chief in searching scientific information, writing technical reports, and preparing presentations.

Basic Requirements: BA/BS with at least three years related experience or MA/MS with at least 0-1 year of related experience. Experience with all Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of standard laboratory techniques, experience in using sterile techniques, good organizational skills, and ability to follow scientific protocols. Experience/training in general wet laboratory techniques such as tissue culture, experience working with animal models or willingness to learn, and training in human clinical trials or willingness to learn.
