General Statement of Duties: |
The Director is responsible for the planning, directing, supervision, and operations of all activities related to the Physical Plant and grounds. Programmatic responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Preventive, deferred, and on-going maintenance; building renewal projects; minor capital building renovations; energy management; grounds and other services.
The tasks, duties, responsibilities, functions, skills, talents, etc, outlined above are not an exhaustive list and should not be construed as such. The contents of this document may be changed at the discretion of the “organization” or “Supervisor” at any time.

Qualifications: |
The successful candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, architecture, or other related field. Significant relevant work experience and high school diploma, together with a post-high-school technical training may substitute for the college degree. At least five years of progressively responsible managerial and supervisory experience in management in a higher education environment or similar institutions is required. Must possess good communication and organizational skills and values consistent with the Seventh-day Adventist mission and tradition of the College. |
Scope: |
Interact on a regular basis with administrators, faculty, staff, student and vendors. |
Working Conditions: |
Work is normally performed in a typical exterior/interior maintenance environment. Considerable of Physical effort some times required. Exposure to some grade of physical risk. Physical demands must be met for safe operation of power equipment. Vision, hearing, movement – use of hands to operate different types of working tools. The employee will occasionally work in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions, and is occasionally exposed to: Wet and/or humid conditions. Required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. |
