Job Description:

Position Summary:


The Business Analyst will partner with various lines of business within The Mentor Network and IT to define solutions to business issues.  This position is primarily responsible for the development of technology and/or process solutions, which will entail defining business needs, researching potential solutions, preparing business cases, technical requirements and test plans.  Incumbents in this position are responsible for working closely with The Mentor Network’s business units to identify and define business direction and to understand the implications it may have on existing organizational work processes. 


Key Job Responsibilities: 


 



  • Analyzes medium sized to complex business issues and opportunities, working closely with internal business customers. 

  • Discusses, reviews, and designs appropriate improved business flow and/or IT solutions in concert with others.  Assesses for both technical and business suitability.

  • Prepares comprehensive business requirements documents with complete front-end analysis to ensure the solution will meet the customer’s business need.

  • Works with the business to prepare business cases, including cost benefit analysis.

  • Translates customer requirements into functional/technical requirements. 

  • Develops required test plans for projects when appropriate, executes test plans, monitors and documents the results and follows up on open items to resolution. 

  • Assists in transition plans from implementation phase to a support model.

  • Oversees the implementation of new systems or processes.  Develops user manuals or procedure guides as needed. Provides training to users.

  • Performs other duties as required.


Key Requirements: 


 



  • Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Information Management, Computer Science or related field.

  • Minimum 7-10 years experience in requirements documentation, business process analysis and redesign, and/or business systems analysis in a role of Business Analyst, Process Analyst/Consultant, preferably in a variety of assignments.

  • Experience with business process re-engineering, including gathering and documenting requirements, documenting workflows and developing specifications for the programmers required.

  • Ability to create and own business requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, visual storyboards, business process design, prototyping, etc.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, partnering, writing, facilitation, cost benefit analysis, technology selection, software development lifecycle and presentation skills required.

  • Working knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements desired.

  • Ability to lead, think creatively, adapt proactively to changing environments, act decisively, and motivate, develop, inspire, and empower others.

  • Ability to work at a high technical level in a fast pace environment.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, and Visio.

  • Willingness to travel as required by the position.
