Position Overview:
|
Become a senior member of AIR's growing Wind Engineering team in our Research and Modeling department. The Manger, Wind Engineering will manage the development of new wind engineering models for the insurance industry, working closely with a team of structural engineers, meteorologists, and statisticians.

Responsibilities:
|
You will be responsible for managing a team of engineers and scientists to design, implement and validate commerical wind engineering models. You will also define model requirements with input from sales and software services teams. You are expected to investigate wind effects on buildings and investigate building damage in the aftermath of tropical cyclones and windstorms.
As a new member of our Wind Engineering team you will conduct probabilistic hazard assessment and modeling and support marketing and sales iniativies related to wind products. You will also establish and manage group project schedules to achieve delivery commitments

Qualifications:
|
You should possess the following:
- Demonstrated management leadership skills gained through practical experience
- Solid probabilistic and stochastic modeling skills gained through practical work experience
- Strong background in the effects of wind on structures
- Strong knowledge of stochastic modeling of natural hazards and/or risk assessment and management
- Knowledge of probability and statistics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in programming with FORTRAN and/or C/C++ a plus
- 5+ years of professional experience
- 1+ years of management experience
- PhD degree in Civil Engineering, with emphasis on wind engineering
