Job Description
General Summary / Overview Statement:
Reports to the Director of Imaging Informatics and is responsible for the management and execution of Informatics initiatives. The incumbent is responsible for participating in and coordinating Informatics related projects that include, but are not limited to:
New System Implementations
System Upgrades
Integration with internal (Imaging) and external (Partners, Vendors) applications
Informatics Process Improvements
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the formation and leadership of multi-functional and cross-organizational teams. Project teams may be comprised of vendors, Informatics application and systems support teams, as well as, departmental operation managers and line personnel. In addition, for select IT projects which impact departments and services outside of Imaging, the individual will serve as the primary liaison to those outside groups throughout the life cycle of the project.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Project Manager role includes, but is not limited to, a comprehensive understanding of and responsibility for the following areas:
Strategic System Service, Support and Planning
o Drives RFI/RFP projects for product selection or product upgrades.
o Participates in initial vendor negotiations and ongoing vendor management for related projects.
o Establishes Informatics standards for project management.
o Provides process for project transition to ongoing production support.
o Leads continuous process improvement initiatives for Informatics.
Project Management
o Responsible for communicating to project sponsors, stakeholders, team members and Imaging Leadership all relative project information.
o Incorporates standard deliverables for People, Process and Technology components for every project.
o Owns the development, management and execution of all project plans and schedules.
o Identifies, escalates and manages project risks and issues to resolution.
o Manages and reports on established project budgets.
o Responsible for project administration to include but not limited to, scheduling meetings, reserving conference rooms and conference dial in numbers, creating and distribution agendas, meeting minutes, schedules, risk/issues logs and status reports.
Business and System Analysis
o Documents workflow processes for assigned projects.
o Leads information gathering session with Imaging Operations contacts to document all business, system and functional requirements for assigned projects.
User Acceptance Testing/Training
o Creates test plans, test case scenarios, test scripts and performs user acceptance testing for all assigned projects.
o Creates training plans, training materials and delivers training to Informatics Support Staff for all assigned projects.
Qualifications:
PMP Certification
10 years IT Project Management experience
8 years experience in a dynamic and fast paced operations environment
5 - 7 years experience in supporting or project management of complex Information Management Systems.
3 - 5 years experience working in a large (over 5,000 employees) organization
