Job Summary:


Plan, publicize, and manage the policies and implementation strategies for all federal, state, institutional and private loans. Also serve as key customer service representative for all SFS functions – student accounts, financial aid, and financing options.


Essential Responsibilities:


• Manages electronic certification, processing, and return of funds for federal, state, institutional and private student/parent loans.


• Administers the Federal Direct Loan program, including origination, disbursement, and reconciliation of loans; serves as primary contact for U.S. Department of Education’s Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) site.


• Monitors and tracks all internal and external loan change requests.


• Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations related to students/parent loans; tracks receipt of loan proceeds and reconciling loan accounts; and notifies borrowers of loan disbursements.


• Identifies the best financing options for students/parents and conducts debt counseling workshops and loan entrance and exit counseling for Stafford and Perkins loans.


• Serves as liaison to lenders, servicers and guarantors. Participates in annual Request for Information (RFI) to select private loan options for parents and students.


• Key customer service representative for all SFS functions in student accounts, financial aid and financing options.


• Manages all aspects of the Federal Perkins Loan and Mass No Interest Loan Programs.


• Assumes additional responsibilities as required.

Job Requirements:


Minimum Level of Education Required:
Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred


Minimum Level of Experience Required:
1-3 years related work experience


Working Conditions:
Some extended hours during orientation and drop/add periods


Additional Required Skills and Abilities:


• Ability to succeed in a customer-oriented, technology-intensive work environment
• Must demonstrate accounting knowledge
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills including advising and negotiation
• Attention to detail
• Experience with Federal Direct Lending a plus
