Qualifications:The successful candidate must possess a doctoral degree from an accredited institution of higher education and a successful record of academic administration. Collegial and shared governance are required. Must possess the ability to facilitate innovation and growth among faculty and staff; be a creative and visionary leader with a strong work ethic and high energy level; and understand technology and distance learning in curriculum. Knowledge of national trends and developments in higher education, including distance learning enrollment services and outcomes assessment is necessary. The Vice President must possess excellent communication and organizational skills and values consistent with the Seventh-day Adventist mission and tradition of the College. Classroom experience, preferably at the college level.
Responsibilities:The VPAA is accountable for the leadership, creative vision, direction, and coordination of all academic programs and academic support services of the College. Be willing to contribute actively to the mission of the college and serve on one or more of the duly appointed committees. The task, duties, responsibilities, functions, skills, talents, etc, outlined above are not an exhaustive list and should not be construed as such. Scope:Interact on a regular basis with administrators, faculty, staff, and students.
Working Conditions: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment.
