Hologic provides a comprehensive suite of technologies with products for mammography and breast biopsy, radiation treatment for early-stage breast cancer, cervical cancer screening, and treatment for menorrhagia, osteoporosis assessment, preterm birth risk assessment, and mini C-arm for extremity imaging



Role


Cytology Application Specialist is responsible for utilizing cytologic expertise in gyn and non-gyn to support customer and co-workers in all Hologic and Hologic Health Corporation product applications.


 



Essential Duties & Responsibilities





  • Support on-site morphology training and educational efforts for TPPT, TP Non-Gyn, and FCBT (pre/post implementation)



  • Provide support to regional Cytology community (workshops, cytology schools, regional meetings) regarding their knowledge of Hologic Corporation's product line



  • Develop and refine TPPT and TP Non-Gyn screening and interpretive skills to meet department standards



  • Maintain strong clinical knowledge of all Hologic and Hologic Health Corporation products



  • Understand operation of the cytology laboratory



  • Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of the ThinPrep Processors



  • Knowledge of ThinPrep General Cytology specimen processing protocols



  • Assist during sales process of ThinPrep Imagining System



  • Stain implementation in laboratory



  • Review scope training in laboratory



  • Support ThinPrep Imaging System in laboratory



  • Conduct training and review sessions for cytology personnel in the operation and maintenance of the ThinPrep Processors



  • Conduct ThinPrep General Cytology specimen processing trainings at the laboratory site



  • Work with Technical Service to develop strategies to successfully resolve customer issues in a timely fashion



  • Work with regional team to assist with selling process in laboratories



  • Collect laboratory statistics to assist with conversion of TPPT



  • Collect laboratory test volumes (gyn and non-gyn)



  • Collect laboratory usage volumes (TPPT, TPGC and FCDL)



  • Support Cytyc Corporation sponsored workshops



  • Support customer slide set production and maintain cytology screening skills by screening TPPT and TPGC cases in gray-box within defined protocol (timely, accurately and customer-ready quality)



  • Conduct TPPT Customer Training Programs (In-house and Mobile)



  • Assist with Cytology Education projects as needed



  • Maintain CAS administrative standards, be fiscally responsible, submit expense reports timely, and provide required field reports



  • Conduct in house trainings for co-workers to assist in furthering knowledge of Cytyc Corporation product line



  • Support efforts of research and design



 





Qualifications

  • CT (ASCP) certification or equivalent mandatory



  • Bachelor's degree preferred



  • 1 to 2  years of cytotechnology experience required (gyn & non- gyn)



  • Strong interpersonal skills



  • Excellent oral and written communication skills



  • Presentation and organizational skills.



  • Strong customer service skills



 


 


Special Requirements


Since this position requires you to drive extensively during the work day, a valid driving license and a driving record satisfactory to the Company, as well as a serviceable vehicle available for work use is mandatory.


 


 



Education 







  • CT (ASCP) certification or equivalent mandatory

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
