EDC’s Health and Human Development Programs has an opening for a Technology Associate (I), reporting to the Director of Technology in its Newton, MA Headquarters.

The Technology Group is a central HHD function chartered with the leadership and oversight of division-wide technology strategy, assessment of new technologies, and adoption, and implementation. Technology Group staff members can expect to spend their time equally on both Division-wide initiatives as well as Center-specific projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS -

Under general guidance, the Online Curriculum Developer and Facilitator will work as part of the HHD Technology team to provide professional development training, curriculum development and technical assistance and will support the implementation of online learning programs.
The Online Curriculum Developer and Facilitator will:
§ Develop online curriculum
§ Maintain and design of online curriculum content
§ Develop multimedia to support curriculum and professional development training
§ Consult with HHD groups/centers on strategies and approaches to online curriculum development
§ Conduct training in online course development and online course facilitation
§ Contribute as needed to support a growing national program.
The Online Curriculum Developer and Facilitator is responsible for:
§ Designing and maintaining online curriculum including researching, writing and evaluating appropriate web-based content and resources for inclusion in online courses
§ Developing multimedia and interactives for online curriculum (Flash), developing web-based materials (Dreamweaver/Moodle/Drupal)
§ Using course-authoring environments (Moodle, Drupal, Articulate, Captivate, etc.), multimedia tools and a update and build online curriculum; and regularly communicating and working with curriculum development and update teams
§ Facilitating online training for designated moderators, including registering participants, preparing session announcements , building an online learning community; administering online surveys; Communicating online and through email with online course participants and team coordinators; facilitating the development of participant products; evaluating participants’ learning; and other related course facilitation duties as needed
§ Serving as a liaison to organizations participating in online training, consulting with them as they establish local online learning programs and deliver face-to-face training session.

§ Developing and incorporating multimedia and technology tools into professional development materials
QUALIFICATIONS -
All jobs require educational achievement; excellent writing skills; demonstrable initiative, creativity, and flexibility; ability to work independently and effectively in groups; strong interpersonal & organizational skills.
§ Bachelor’s degree required
§ Master’s degree, educational certification or PhD in a related field preferred
§ With Bachelor’s degree, 5-8 years related experience in the disciplinary area, social science or public health research, education, training, curriculum design, consulting, organizational development or administrative management, including solid experience with computer applications, instructional design, and Internet research
§ With Master’s degree, 3-5 years related experience (as above)
§ Experience with public health related issues desirable
§ Experience with facilitation and design of curriculum
§ Familiarity with course-authoring systems such as Moodle helpful
§ Familiarity with multimedia techniques related to content development including Flash, Captivate, Articulate.
