Boston-Power Seeks Lithium-Ion Battery Development Scientists

Boston-Power, Inc., is currently seeking highly enthusiastic and productive Scientists to provide expertise in the development of advanced lithium-ion batteries. These are hands-on laboratory roles that will expose you to a wide variety of techniques supporting Boston-Power’s novel technology and products. You will work across several scientific disciplines with talented, motivated people, transitioning seamlessly between individual and team-based assignments. This is an excellent opportunity to further strengthen your skills and experience in experimental methods and technology transfer with a growing team for a fast-paced and dynamic pre-IPO company.
Responsibilities:

    * Identify and evaluate optimum materials and formulations for Li-ion batteries;
    * Conduct electrochemical and physical testing of next-generation battery materials;
    * Prepare written and oral reports to engineering, marketing/sales, and executive teams;
    * Monitor current scientific literature to support research and intellectual property efforts;
    * Occasional travel to suppliers, customers, and production sites;
    * Support manufacturing, quality control, and safety/environmental teams.

Qualifications:

    * PhD in physical science or engineering: chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or physics, with a research emphasis on Li-ion materials;
    * 0-3 years experience, including post-doc;
    * Strong knowledge of statistical experimental techniques and data analysis;
    * Works well in fast-paced team-oriented culture;
    * Takes initiative in defining and achieving goals;
    * Excellent teamwork and communications skills.
