Overview:

Chemical Operations has a wide selection of quality accounts in the chemical industry whose operations range from fine chemicals to petrochemicals. With a remit to write business on a world wide basis the operations has challenging growth targets and plenty of scope to develop additional clients. Part of this growth plan has seen the recent establishment of a chemical operations branch in Amsterdam.


Responsibilities:



An account engineer within Chemical Operations is a key part of the client service team. Working with the client on both a corporate and local level the account engineer evaluates and assesses the nature, probability and magnitude of loss potentials and makes sure this is properly communicated and understood both internally and by the client. Working with field engineering, client service, claims and new business development, the account engineer develops innovative solutions to reduce or eliminate risk and prioritizes these with the client to ensure development and execution of effective risk improvement plans.



Our account engineers need a high degree of proficiency in building and maintaining client relationships in order to become a "trusted advisor" in terms of property loss prevention.



Based in Amsterdam, the account engineer will work both on servicing existing accounts and development of new business.


Qualifications:





A Batchelors degree in engineering (preferably chemical engineering) and a minimum of 3 years experience as a field engineering consultant with FM Global, or equivalent related industry experience. Additional experience servicing or working for chemical industry clients is a plus.



The candidate must possess excellent written, presentational and interpersonal communications skills. The succesful candidate will have proven technical proficiency in risk identification and quantification at chemical and other high hazard sites. Negotiation skills and an ability to communicate at all levels in our clients' organzation are a must.



The candidate must be able to balance attention to detail with a focus on key objectives. Problem solving, teamwork and decision making, all need to be at a high level.



Servicing clients based over a wide geographic territory, significant travel will be involved. Fluency in a major western European language in addition to English is needed, with a strong preference for German or French,
