Performance Motion Devices, Inc (PMD) is a world leader in motion control technology for robotics, automation, and scientific equipment. We deliver advanced motion control solutions and ultra high efficient green motor control products to a worldwide customer base.
PMD is expanding its product offerings and is looking for a talented, experienced, and highly motivated, senior or principal electrical engineer to lead the development of our next generation motion control ICs, motion control cards, and module-level products. This position combines a number of design skills including FPGA design, ASIC design, card schematic design, analog/digital interface, component specification, and design for manufacturability.
The ideal candidate will have:
• A BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering
• 8 to 15 years digital & analog circuit design experience.
• Switching power drive, MOSFET/IGBT circuit design experience.
• FPGA & ASIC design experience.
• Strong analog design background.
• CE & UL safety/EMI certification acquisition experience
• EMI/noise minimization design experience
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
Additional desired skills:
• Motor controls & signal processing theory
• Experience with real time control and hardware/firmware integration
• Experience being the principal designer of a drive or motion controller
• DSP & microcontroller programming
• Power dissipation/heat sink analysis,
• Experience with protocols such as Ethernet, CANBus, PCI, PC/104, SPI, and I2C
• Embedded control, motion control, and automation experience
• Assembly, C/C++ language
