Overview: |
- Responsible for designing test methodologies, test processes, and test sets for 10Gb, DWDM lightwave transmission systems.
- Responsible to define and control of the test processes and equipment. Engineer shall document test procedures, train technicians and operators, perform EOM study , maintain test hardware, fixturing, collect required test data, and troubleshoot test failures. Troubleshooting requires solution design and experimentation coordination with product engineers and R&D designers. Test engineer is responsible to establish SPC controls as required and support data analysis. Improve product test throughput and yield to meet program objectives.
- Support Manufacturing in systems integration and testing activities.
- Provide DFM / DFT input to design organization.
- NEW PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
- - Participate in all development activities
- - Be actively involved in all phases of development life cycle
- - Attend Design Reviews
- - Engage process engineering to grade designs for DFx
- - Understand and support project plan
- - Provide input and updates to Plans of Work
- - Work with project management to communicate issues/status to factory for preparation for manufacturing
- - Support DFM and Lessons Learned
- - Understand opportunities for improvements
- - Communicate to design
- - Verify successful implementation (at design reviews)
- - Review and approve Product Design Information and transfer it to Manufacturing
Support company and facility Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) policies and programs.

Responsibilities & Qualifications: |
- Experience with functional test and manufacturing test set operation. Working knowledge of test methods and experience writing procedures. Working knowledge of telecommunications transmission equipment architecture and function.
- BS Electrical engineering
- Advanced degree in technical discipline preferred.
- Functional Test and Troubleshooting Experience required.
- Test Software experience with CVI / LabWindows preferred.
- Experience with fiber-optics or lightwave communication systems a plus.
