Position Overview:
Become a senior member of the growing Earthquake team in our Research and Modeling department. Manage the development of new earthquake models for the insurance industry, working closely with a team of structural engineers, seismologists, geologists, and statisticians.

Responsibilities:
As the Earthquake Manager you will manage a team of engineers and scientists to design, implement and validate commerical earthquake models.  You'll also define model requirements with input from sales and software services teams, as well as participate in hazard assessment and modeling.  You will be expected to support marketing and sales iniativies related to earthquake products and establish and manage group project schedules to achieve delivery commitments.

 


Qualifications:

To qualify for this position you need to demonstrate management leadership skills gained through practical experience.  You should also have solid probabilistic and stochastic modeling skills gained through practical work experience.  Yould also have:

    *
      Knowledge of earthquake hazard and engineering
    *
      Experience in structural design
    *
      Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    *
      5+ years of professional experience
    *
      1+ years of management experience
    *
      Experience in programming with FORTRAN and/or C/C++, Risk modeling experience is a plus
      

PhD degree in Civil Engineering, with emphasis on earthquake engineering is required.
