Responsibilities:
We are seeking a seasoned ME to design and develop scroll vacuum pumps and related components and systems. You will determine requirements; perform engineering analysis; design components, products, and systems; carry out design verification and manufacturing validation programs using simulation and physical testing; participate in problem resolution; document all results properly; and provide engineering support after product release. The successful candidate will be able to use modern design methodologies (FMEA, QFD, Six-Sigma tools), simulation tools (FEA stress and thermal analysis, CFD, etc.)and traditional methods to ensure successful technical results. Under the direction of the Technical Product Manager, you will manage product development projects using the NPI process to meet product design requirements, cost targets, and launch schedule.
Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
*BSME; MSME preferred
*5+ years of work experience in the design and development of electro-mechanical products for mass production
*Ability to manage product development and launch projects using stage gate processes and experience in managing manufacturing cost through design
*Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems and machine design. Experience in the following product fields is highly desirable: rotating machinery, pumps/compressors/blowers/fans, electric motors, mechanical power transmission. Experience in vacuum technologies is highly desirable.
*High degree of competence using SolidWorks or equivalent. Competence using CosmosWorks or equivalent software for thermal, stress, flow analysis
*Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes including: casting, forging, machining, forming, welding brazing, assembly, finishing, testing, etc.
*Ability to perform hands-on work in lab and shop such as: design and assembly of test equipment; prototyping; recording/analyzing data
*Sufficient understanding of electronics and electrical systems to interact with electrical engineers
