Purpose	MITRE, a "Fortune 100 Best Company To Work For," is seeking a Systems Engineer knowledgeable in communications, navigation and landing systems with acquisition experience in the Air Traffic Management domain.
Key Functions	MITRE has an immediate opening in the Foreign Military Sales (FMS)/International Acquisition program for an engineering lead supporting the acquisition and implementation of tactical COTS/NDI Communications, Navigation Surveillance and Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) airbase systems to be utilized by Foreign, NATO and Coalition Forces throughout the world. Responsibilities will require the applicant to be knowledgeable in the use and integration of these CNS/ATM capabilities within the airport domain, ATC operations, and a working knowledge of the applicable FAA, NATO, and ICAO standards and practices. The Program Lead Engineer will direct the preparation of the project technical acquisition documentation, participate in the technical proposal evaluations and contract award activities, conduct Factory Acceptance Test (FATs), Site Acceptance Test (SAT) , Flight Check, and System Certification, participate in Program Management Reviews (PMRs) and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), and directly interface with Foreign military customers and the projects’ Security Assistance Program Managers (SAPMs) and Director.
Required Education/Experience:	BS or equivalent and 1 year experience or MS or equivalent
Desired Education/Experience	BS or equivalent and 5 years of related experience or MS or equivalent and 3 years of related experience. Experience in a technical leadership role.
Required Skills:	Strong leadership and organizing skills with an ability to work well within multi-disciplinary civilian/military groups is a must. Must be knowledgeable about CNS/ATM technologies and applications associated with airbase landing and automation systems. Must be familiar with the DoD acquisition process.
Desired Skills	Background or knowledge of the implementation of ATC automation systems and its operations, airport NAVAIDS and landing systems, and familiarity with FAA, NATO, and ICAO standards and practices. Participation in DoD requirement development and previous employment in the aviation industry is desirable.
Travel Statement	*This position will require overnight travel up to 30% of the time.
Clearance Statement	*Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance. For this position, MITRE will consider only applicants with security clearances or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.
