| Responsibilities:
| QinetiQ North America (QNA) is seeking an information technology professional with practical knowledge, technical depth and strong operational experience to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of our primary datacenter servicing a large number of users that are geographically dispersed. The Systems Engineer II will be responsible for ensuring that the primary data center and its associated services are always available. She/he will ensure compliance with change control processes, adherence to standards, and develop required documentation. She/he will participate in system maintenance activities and contribute to the optimization and performance of the enterprise infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
? Assist in implementation of Windows systems and supporting hardware in a virtualized, redundant, multi-tiered environment. ? Support backup and Business Continuity plan solutions. ? Installation and configuration of Citrix servers, software, upgrades and patches. Assist in Citrix implementation, server administration, load balancing, application packaging/deployment, performance tuning, and overall day-to-day operations.
? Closely monitor servers and other related systems to assure quality, performance and very high levels of availability. ? Engineer and administer messaging related solutions including Exchange, Blackberry Enterprise Server, and Unified Messaging. ? Ensures enterprise wide scalability and performance through proactive capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning. Analyze and report system performance.
? Assists in development of technical design, migration planning, builds/upgrades, and testing releases of Exchange systems and the range of related messaging platforms. ? Work with the Systems Manager to ensure enterprise wide scalability and performance through proactive capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning. Analyze and report system performance. ? Provide leadership in technical design, scheduled patch and firmware maintenance, hardware and software upgrades, and testing of releases and upgrades associated with the datacenter. ? Support standards, guidelines, best practices, and metrics as directed. ? Implement test plans, migration plans, and delivery plans. ?X Serve as an escalation point for software or hardware problems within the datacenter environment. ? Interface with various vendors to coordinate resolution for hardware and software problems.
| Qualifications:
| This position requires strong technical background and in-depth knowledge of delivering complex solutions using industry best practices and methods. ? Demonstrated 5+ years of extensive LAN/WAN networking and troubleshooting in large, distributed corporate environment with in-depth knowledge of Microsoft networks, Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS; experience designing and administering server clusters and virtualization (e.g. VM Ware). ? Demonstrated 3+ years of strong technical engineering and support experience with enterprise monitoring tools, automated server build technologies. ? Extensive hardware experience with Dell servers and EMC storage components. ? Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels of the organization ? Ability to work effectively in a fast paced changing environment multi-tasking, prioritization, and ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner. ? Experience handling complex support desk escalations; monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Windows systems environments.
A Bachelors degree or equivalent in a related engineering or technology discipline is required. Professional Certifications (desired): ?X MCSE or MCSA ?X VCP (VMware)
