FOOD / NUTRITION SUPERVISOR
Parker Hill/Fenway Head Start

Manage the Head Start kitchen inclusive of staff supervision and quality food preparation, service, and storage. Ensure the center’s food and nutrition services are in compliance with nutrition and state sanitation codes as determined by ACF, OCCS, DPH, BDHH, and ABCD Head Start. Develop daily/weekly schedule of kitchen staff in accordance with Head Start schedule. Set up weekly food inventory system for ordering food and supplies. Ensure preparation of nutritious food at appropriate times for all children, including any special diets at the center. Participate in nutrition education activities for children, parents, and staff. Coordinate and participate in meetings and trainings. Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum of a high school diploma or GED, with Food Protection Manager Certification and course work in Management or Food Services required. Must have at least one to three years of experience in quality food production. Experience in supervising food service staff required. Must have experience in working with the nutritional needs and specialty food requirements of children between the ages of three and five. Must be able to work under minimal supervision. Ability to use community resources effectively required. Must be able to lift heavy items and work under less than adequate conditions such as high temperature. Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
