Located in Merrimack, New Hampshire, DRS Codem Systems, Inc., is an industry leader in the design, development and production of products and systems for Communications Intelligence (COMINT), Spectrum Management, Satellite Communications and Tactical Military Networks. We operate on a 9/80 work schedule, all employees work 80 hrs in 9 days and have every other Friday off.  Relocation Benefits will not apply to this position.
Position Summary

Provide purchasing support to a multi-departmental, multiple location manufacturing company.  Quick-turn results for Engineering and Production as needs require for short turn programs and contracts.  Able to effectively negotiate with suppliers for best price, quality, and delivery to meet Codem performance goals, including PPV.  Purchase material on time to meet product delivery schedule.  Maintain, review and recommend quality process changes, as needed to help maintain ISO 9001 registration.

 
Basic Qualifications

·         Responsible for negotiating and purchasing materials, equipment, and supplies

·         Demonstrated knowledge in Mechanical purchasing, print interpretation, and sourcing best overall supplier

·         Advanced negotiation skills

·         Demonstrated advanced knowledge of metal Fabrication and associated process

·         Demonstrated knowledge of welding, stamping, marking, finishing, and all associated

·         metal processes

·         Advanced knowledge of all types of electronic components

·         Experience with Small Business requirements for contracts

·         DOD contract purchasing experience a must

·         Ability to work directly with engineering staff to facilitate and resolve problems related to prototype and one-of-builds

·         Experience with Deltek Costpoint a huge plus

·         Evaluates supplier quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers

·         Can survey prospective metal houses and determine viability of facility to meet needs

·         Maintain approved supplier list

·         Facilitate and expedite the flow of materials to and from various outside suppliers.

·         Handle delivery inconsistencies or delays

·         Miscellaneous duties as may be assigned by Manager or Director

 

Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge

·         High school graduate with 4-6 years experience in buying discrete electronic components and

assemblies and metal fabricated components

·         Clear understanding of Bill of Materials required

·         Drawing documents and blueprints a plus

·         Ability to be able to work in an environment where documentation may not be complete

·         Must be a detail oriented, self-starter with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities

·         Professional phone, correspondence and internal customer skills

·         Advanced knowledge of Inventory control software systems

·         Excellent computer skills – Windows, word processor, spreadsheet, modular accounting

system experience required.

·         Intimate MRP and associated planning skills a must.

·         Experience and or knowledge of Mas 200 (Sage Software) a plus

·         CPM or CPIM certification a plus.

·         Minimum of 6-10 years relevant experience
