Description This Quality Engineering role will support Supplier Quality Management at Covidien's Medical Supplies Plants. Develops, implements, and maintains technical quality assurance systems and activities. This role will be involved in all aspects of Quality Engineering and Quality Systems development at the Corporate and Plant levels.

This position will be responsible for Quality Engineering responsibilities as they apply to Supplier Quality, -Monitoring, -Management and Qualification; Supporting internal and external development efforts, Quality Metrics compilation and reporting and supporting other Corporate Quality initiatives as necessary. The position will employ the use of six sigma tools to improve internal and external supplier processes and products, utilizing Statistical Process Control concepts and tools.

This position is set in a fast paced environment and will require the ability to work on diverse cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization, including both Corporate and manufacturing plants. This position requires the ability to travel.
Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related curriculum required.

2 - 5 years experience in a Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering or Reliability Engineering function.

Working knowledge of Supplier Management and Supplier Quality Systems is a plus. Broad project and process knowledge, including plastics, metals and manual assembly. Working knowledge of, and auditing experience to ISO13485 and 21 CFR Part 820 Quality Systems. Strong analysis and problem-solving skills, including SPC, Statistics, Kaizen, etc. Six Sigma experience / certification preferred. Medical device or pharmaceutical background preferred with working knowledge of PPAP, APQP, CP, SPC, GD&T and GR&R.

Requires excellent interpersonal and group communication skills (including presentation skills) to deal effectively with project teams, various internal functions and suppliers. This position requires domestic travel. Function Quality Division Med Supplies
