Description
Responsible for the management of marketing communications that support a specific distribution channel.  Key responsibility is to focus on supporting channel broker/dealers, producer needs, key account needs and wholesaler needs to produce best in class sales-building marketing literature and initiatives.
 
Manage and execute channel marketing initiatives
Lead the development of channel-specific materials in print and for the website including support materials for meeting, conferences, firm-specific campaigns, sales ideas and other initiatives. Prioritize top channel marketing initiatives, based on sales-impact, and ensure they quickly move through production into the field.  Take responsibility for post-analysis of channel marketing initiatives - generate an intellectual knowledge base on what works and what doesn't.
 
Assist in the development of marketing plans and strategies to support channel sales efforts
Develop a detailed understanding of the unique needs of the firms and wholesalers in assigned channel.  Analyze sales trends and recommend marketing plans for the top 10 firms in the channel. Keep abreast of industry trends and foresee future initiatives and responses.  Work with channel management to leverage sales ideas and initiatives and magnify impact.
 
Support and manage marketing communication campaigns and programs
Manage and participate in marketing campaigns and programs that support all distribution channels as assigned, including major print and electronic campaigns, top producer meetings, product launches and other programs. Provide direction to, train and mentor more junior staff and take an active role in initiatives to improve workflow and compliance processes within the marketing communications team.
 
Provide timely internal communication and cooperation
Work with the e-commerce, marcom, design and event planning teams to continually streamline project management and execution.  Communicate all channel marketing initiatives to the key account managers, the wholesalers, the internal sales desk, and other internal groups in a manner that magnifies enthusiasm and utilization. Keep an open dialogue with other business units such as annuities and 529 to develop ways to leverage joint initiatives and communications.
 
Manage staff and provide input into budgeting process
Make decisions regarding employment, compensation, performance appraisals, training and development and related personnel actions.  Set clear performance expectations for staff.  Ensure individual development plans are created and executed for team members. Provide input into the budget process and manage department costs within budget guidelines.
 
Qualifications:

    * BS/BA in marketing or related field.
    * 5-7 years of industry experience
    * BS in Business, Finance or Related Field
    * Series 7 or 6 licensed
    * Mutual fund product experience preferred
    * Strong knowledge of investment products
    * Proven project management skills
    * Strong analytical and writing skills
    * Strong team player
    * Management experience would be helpful
