Exciting career opportunity available in our Hanover Corporate Offices for a Senior Product Marketing Manager. The Senior Product Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and implementing innovative and comprehensive marketing strategies and initiatives for Rockland Trust’s retail and business operations. This position will report to the Director of Marketing and have overall responsibility for management of product marketing information and data, including the development and management of product analysis and reporting.
Working with other areas throughout the bank, the Product Marketing Manager will oversee the entire product marketing roadmap and marketing execution throughout the product lifecycle. This includes business development and sales team support by providing strategy/tactical “go to market” recommendations to help meet profitability/revenue and customer satisfaction goals. This person will develop appropriate new products, and direct and deliver marketing strategies to support them, driving continued growth, and additional product sales, while increasing product adoption rates. As it relates to new product development and support, this position will research and develop fully integrated communications programs including advertising, collateral, direct marketing, interactive initiatives, public relations, and media relations.
Additionally, and fundamental to this position, will be the full marketing support for all retail (including home equity) and business/commercial product lines. This includes planning and executing marketing and sales support programs to support the growth of consumer and business plans, and development and implementation of strategic marketing plans for appropriate business units. This position is responsible for ensuring that Rockland Trust builds strong, profitable relationships with consumers and business owners.
The ideal candidate will be familiar with and have experience working in product marketing in financial services in general and banking in particular, and possess an in-depth understanding of the functions of product development and marketing, including pricing, promotion, profitability (analysis), and positioning.
Overall responsibilities include:
Serve as marketing liaison and strategist for product and business development to assigned business units.
Develop annual marketing strategies related to new product goals and support annual sales goals with marketing tactics.
Monitor competitive landscape: Provide competitor insights, including marketshare, target audiences, pricing, and promotions.
Development of positioning of RTC’s product and pricing strategies. Oversee weekly pricing strategy meeting.
Develop product launch plans, including market research, positioning, strategy, target audience, messaging, announcement components, sales support, lead generation plans, consumer adoption components, and analysis (tracking and reporting).
Analyze internal and external data to identify cross sell opportunities that correlate to the bank’s strategic objectives. Interpret data for management, drawing independent conclusions and recommending action plans with focus on relationship building and profitability enhancement.
Manage the bank’s direct mail efforts, including strategy, program tracking and measurement of campaigns, and provide analysis of direct mail results and report on ROI. Oversee outside direct marketing agency. Provide related sales support such as lead list generation.
Create marketing material and sales collateral, including product brochures, ads, sales aids, web content, internal communications, and others as necessary.
Create recommendations for product introductions/changes/improvements through product life cycle, based on internal analysis and competitive market information. Forecast potential revenue and profits associated with these product changes/improvements. Provide information on product operation/specifications/applications and competitive advantages as requested.
Manage MCIF (Marketing Customer Information File) and work with Information Services to ensure maximum utilization, including updates and interface modifications. Develop and implement reports for measuring standard performance (i.e. closed accounts, household trends, segment profitability, etc.) and summarize important findings as necessary. Serve as liaison to MCIF system provider.
Direct routine and ad hoc reporting to assist in the development of marketing strategy, including maintenance of deposit and loan market share data by region and market characteristic trends across the bank’s service area.
Direct and mentor project manager.
Manage budget and forecasting.
Communicate product related updates and modifications to sales organization and corporate partners on a regular basis
Required Skills
Required Skills/Experience:
B.A. or B.S. degree; Masters preferred
8+ years of experience in product marketing; at least 5 years of banking experience
Demonstrate expertise in driving revenue, managing a product launch and campaign creation and execution
Strong business acumen and P&L understanding/analytical skills
Team and customer oriented, with strong interpersonal skills
Organized, with excellent project management skills and flawless follow-through
Experience with both business-to-business and business-to-consumer marketing preferred
