Senior Product Systems Engineer
Job Description:
Responsibilities: Primary technical interface within Product Management to customers, sales, and engineering. Responsibile for collecting market and application requirements and driving innovation into product and system solutions that provide a compelling competitive advantage for Mercury.
Owner of product definition process within Mercury with responsibility for Product Requirement Document (PRDs) process and communication to hardware and software engineering.
Owns and facilitates the trade space between engineering and the customer requirements.
Role has high degree of visibility to the customer and supporting sales and business development design win process, including validation of solution maps from Aes for existing, planned, and future products.
Creates and delivers technical presentations to customers, in addition to developing hardware and software demos for tradeshows and customer engagements.
Owns and approves all technical content on product data sheets. Supports sales conference calls, on-site visits and demos when required.
Supports trade shows by developing product demos and booth duty.
•Builds close collaborative technical relationships with strategic customers to develop insights to market trends, and areas for unique product differentiation and value add.
Product Management responsibilities:
•Provides technical support/partner to product managers for new projects, sustaining products, trade shows, proposal generation and sales support
•Work closely with Product Managers on technical product issues related to quality, customers, sales and new product releases
•Support Product Managers with competitive product reviews, analysis, reporting, and inputs to product roadmap
•Responsible for CSN system compliance for assigned product line that will lead to complete solutions for compelling and innovative hardware solutions. Engineering interface:
•Map market and application requirements into Mercury product specifications to clearly define and communicate product requirements to Hardware and Software Engineering. Owns and facilitates the trade space between engineering and the customer requirements
•Inform engineering of trends that have a long term impact on architecture: anti tamper, system management, Intel x86, GPUs, libraries, etc. Technology
•Work with the technology office to test new trends, capture strategic opportunities, and train the field on how the products meet up with important technology trends, like virtualization for example.
•Evaluate new silicon, interconnect, and software technologies for use in next generation products.
Qualifications:
•BS in engineering or a related field with a minimum of 5 years related experience to include real-time embedded processing background.
•Must be able to take complex technical subjects and make them understandable to people (internal and external) of varying technical ability by using analogies and illustrations
•Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Proficient in MS-Office suite (Excel, Word, Power Point and Visio/MS Project)
•Requires a technical background and product knowledge specific to assigned product lines Additional Preferred
Qualifications:
•Must be able to create and present compelling technical presentations
•Demonstrated ability to communicate new product design concepts to sales, major accounts, and facilitate feedback to product management and engineering.
