Location: Canton, MA

Needham Electric Supply (NESCO) is in search of a leader to drive and grow sales in its C&I Projects Department. The Projects Manager is responsible for all the activities of the department including but not limited to the management and development of its associates, managing the full sales cycle, from order processing, product application, product substitution, price and availability information, shipment coordination, quotations, buys and order expediting, coordinating work flow in the department. This position acts as the liaison between the customer and other departments, including credit, purchasing, and warehouse, inside and outside sales.

This individual is responsible for the analysis of the profitability of the department and formulating and executing sales plans for continued profitable growth.

This is a great opportunity for a solid manager to take an established lighting and switchgear department to the next level utilizing proven leadership and solid work ethic and dedication to the position. This position will be a key contributor to the NESCO sale and management team.

Qualified candidates will be able to:
    Negotiate pricing and availability with established relationships with lighting & switchgear vendors.
    Prepare competitive quotations, bids and submittals.
    Negotiate buy outs with vendors and customers.
    Gather and analyze data from all quotations to better position company with future quotations.
    Maintain an automated process that tracks bids and buys and projects database.
    Expedite customer orders through the purchasing and warehouse departments.
    Apply knowledge of product applications to assist customers.
    Know the distributor’s inventory, including substitutions, as well as local factory and competitors’ inventories.
    Interact with and support the outside sales team, sales manager, and purchasing by exchanging customer needs information.
    Follow-up with customers and vendors on billing resolution and returns.
    Responsible for the growth of gross profit dollars, gross profit percentages and sales dollars to the level where additional part- or full-time person is warranted in the department on a continued basis.

Candidates should posses:
    Experience in commercial and industrial lighting and switchgear (minimum 5 years).
    Management experience (minimum 3 years).
    Established relationships with lighting and switchgear vendors/reps and customers.
    Ability to negotiate pricing and write solid proposals for job bids.
    Be well versed in customer buys outs with the customers and vendors/reps.
    Proficiency in Excel, Word and FileMaker.
    Ability to complete a variety of tasks simultaneously with little supervision while managing a team of project managers and quotations associates.
    Excellent organizational skills and must be detail oriented.
    Ability to hold others accountable and on track.
    Ability to work within a team environment.
    Strong negotiation, time-management and problem-solving skills.
    Must be proactive and take ownership of the team.
    Full understanding of profit and loss equations.
