Purpose	Develop distributed, scalable, interactive web applications using J2EE technologies.
Key Functions	Develop distributed, scalable, interactive web applications using Java enterprise technologies and complex distributed systems. You will design and lead the development of distributed, scalable, interactive web applications using J2EE technologies along with other enterprise level tools. Strong development skills and background in Java, Enterprise Java Beans, JDBC and Transaction Services is required. Must be familiar with the Java Security model and how it fits into the J2EE environment. Must be familiar with enterprise security models and have 2-5 years experience with LINUX/UNIX. Requires the ability to manage tasks and projects independently, work with others in a mentoring role and be a technical resource in the J2EE domain.
Required Education/Experience:	BS or equivalent and 1 year experience or MS or equivalent
Desired Education/Experience	BS degree in CS or EE and 3 or more years experience building high performance, distributed object-oriented software systems in Java. Experience with large scale project methodologies and tools (requirements gathering, configuration management, workflow design, quality assurance).
Required Skills:	Strong enterprise design and software development skills including large project experience with Java, EJBs, JDBC, performance tuning and transaction services are required. Practical knowledge of EJB design patterns and best practices also required. Excellent inter-personal communication skills are required for effective interaction with contractors and service providers.
Desired Skills	Experience fielding very large scale production systems. Experience with web application development using Ruby on Rails and PHP. The ability to work closely with Customers and Sponsors. Excellent documentation skills.
Travel Statement	*This position will require overnight travel up to 10% of the time.
