Junior Software Engineer


 


The Junior Engineer will assume development responsibilities for an application used for the control of test and measurement instruments for the Electric Utility industry.


 


Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


 


Design and development of PC applications, functional enhancements and bug fixes in a Microsoft Visual Studio environment 


 


Skilled in the development of software applications for Microsoft operating systems


Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications


 


Developing Software Design Specifications for application designs and enhancements


Debugging code and creating install packages


System integration with other Engineers


Trouble shooting test equipment problems


 


Participating in development programs that include contracting houses


Specification and development of application test fixtures


Related duties as assigned


The ideal candidate has:


 


Bachelors in Computer Science, plus two to five year experience developing software programs in Microsoft Visual Studio


Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server, .net development environment, and web services


Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications


 


Ability to independently plan and organize one’s own activities


Great oral and written communication


While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand for extended periods of time, bend, sit, walk, perform manual tasks which require arm strength and dexterity.
