Essential Functions of a Manager:

A Manager at Deloitte will manage and deliver client engagements that identify, design, and implement technology and creative business solutions for clients.  Responsibilities include, among others, managing teams in the identification of business requirements, functional design, process design (including scenario design, flow mapping), prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures.




Portal Managers in the Information Management practice are required to have:



  • 6+ years of relevant technology consulting or industry experience



  • Bachelors Degree or 4 years equivalent professional experience



  • Willingness to travel to client locations (80%)



  • 2+ years experience managing complex technical engagements and team sizes ranging from 10-25 resources.



  • Experience managing Portal implementation projects



  • Experience with one or more Portal capabilities such as Security, Search, Personalization, Internationalization, Categorization, Taxonomy, Messaging, Collaboration, and Publishing



  • Experience with one or more Portal and ECM platforms: SAP Portal/Netweaver, Plumtree, Vignette, SharePoint, BEA Portal, Websphere Portal, Documentum, FileNet, Hummingbird, Open Text, iManage, eiStream, Captiva, Vignette



  • Experience developing statements of work and/or client proposals



  • Ability to architect a portal solution and provide optimization recommendations to portal managers



  • Ability to recommend platform selection and application integration options to clients



In addition, successful Portal Managers will also have the following preferred skills and experiences:



  • Experience managing vendor selection and contracts

  • Experience providing oversight support to the development team

  • Experience leading or validate the proposed business process model and identify strategy for business readiness

  • Experience identifying business opportunities to increase usability and profitability of  portal interface and information architecture

  • Create scalable technology solutions which can evolve with minimal impact on infrastructure and operations

  • Conduct organizational analysis

  • Plan governance model execution and train governance board to be self-sustaining

  • Identify critical portal application integration issues and recommend solutions

  • Provide technical recommendations for performance issues including: application integration optimization, platform hardware analysis, architecture optimization techniques, and performance troubleshooting techniques

  • Experience with one or more Security tools: IBM/Tivoli Access Manager or Netegrity SiteMinder

  • Experience with one or more Search tools: Google, Verity, Autonomy, FAST

  • Experience with one or more Testing tools:  Mercury Interactive suite

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint).

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.

  • Eagerness to mentor junior staff.

  • An advanced degree in the area of specialization
