DRS Power Technology, Inc. provides engineering and manufacturing services for Naval and commercial machinery systems.  This includes the design and fabrication of advanced electric machinery including high torque/power density performance permanent magnet motors, generators and associated power electronics, large rotating machinery, industrial turbine technology, packaged power and propulsion systems, mechanical equipment modeling and naval machinery inspection.

 

DRS is seeking a customer-focused System Administrator who posses a solid attention to detail and solid technology skills.  Candidate must be detail oriented and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and prioritize workloads with minimal supervision. This position requires both the ability to work individually and with small teams.   Effective oral and written communication skills are required for this role. Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required. Candidate must be US Citizen and eligible for Government clearance.

 

Responsibilities:

·        Manage IT environment comprising primarily of Windows 2003 Server, Windows XP clients and Cisco network infrastructure

·        Manage backup to disk and backup to tape processes utilizing Symantec NetBackup

·        Provide Help Desk support to user community

·        Maintain and troubleshoot network environment, including local LAN management and AT&T’s AVPN-based WAN network

·        Maintain and configure edge Firewalls and anti-malware appliances.

·        Support and maintenance of EMC-based storage environment.

·        Provide application support and management for IT and business related applications

·        Document daily tasks and procedures
Required Skills & Technologies

5+ years experience in the following is required:

·        Microsoft Exchange Server 2003

·        Microsoft Server 2003

·        Microsoft Exchange Server 2003

·        Routing and switching concepts (OSPF, BGP, VLANs, IP addressing, etc.)

·        Cisco ASA-based firewalls and VPNs

·        Backup systems, Symantec NetBackup preferred

 

Candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and 5 to 8 years IT experience, preferably mid-sized (75 - 250 node) environment.

Should have experience with the following:

·        VMware ESX 4.0

·        Cisco VoIP Infrastructure (Call Manager, Unity)

·        Windows Server 2008

·        Exchange Server 2007

·        Active Directory & Group Policy

·        SharePoint (Services or Server)

·        Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5

·        EMC Celerra Hardware & Storage management

·        Blackberry Enterprise Server 5.0

·        Edge Filtering Appliances (anti-spam, anti-virus, anti-malware, web content filtering)

·        Server & Network monitoring software (ipMonitor, WhatsUpGold, Cacti, or equivalents)

 
Pluses

Exposure to the following is desirable, but not required:

·        Relevant manufacturer certifications (Cisco, Microsoft, EMC, Symantec, etc.)

·        Security-focused certifications (CISSP, GIAC, etc.)

·        Microsoft SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008

·        Powershell or Linux shell scripting

·        McAfee ePolicy framework and client-based applications

·        Exposure to engineering and drafting software packages (Ansys, Unigraphics, Solidworks)

·        Deltek Costpoint administration

·        Microsoft Project Server

·        Windows Vista / Windows 7
