Job Description:

This position will be a member of our Windows Infrastructure team and will provide Windows and research support to our Enterprise Architecture Planning & Innovation Division (EAPI). The selected candidate will be involved in a wide range of projects that are looking at technologies and where they can be applied at MITRE.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the day to day Windows Systems management of the EAPI research lab. In addition, the candidate will be part of a core team of technologist assessing new tools and technologies and there potential use at MITRE. This role includes serving as liaison with the infrastructure teams to transition these technologies into the production data centers. It also includes creation and maintenance of process procedures within the environment.
Key Functions ? Working with minimal supervision, provide EAPI with day to day systems support for Windows infrastructure in the EAPI research lab.
? Work with the appropriate Linux administrators on interoperability issues and day to day support of the lab environment.
? As assigned, investigate the potential use of new technologies for use within MITRE’s infrastructure.
? Work with the infrastructure teams to integrate new technologies into the corporate data centers.
? Prepare and present findings of assigned projects to a wider audience
Required Education/Experience: BS or equivalent and 1 year experience or MS or equivalent
Desired Education/Experience Experience working in a research, academia or hosting environment as well as a production environment
Required Skills: • Proficient in Windows Operating systems, plus other Microsoft Software (Sharepoint,SQL)
• Working knowledge of Apple OS X Server and Desktop
• Working knowledge of virtualization strategies and tools.
• Working knowledge of Windows scripting tools
• Ability to quickly stand up services for upcoming projects and demos
• Working knowledge of EMC SAN.
. Working Knowledge of NetApp devices.
• Comfortable creating presentations and presenting in front of group
• Good documentation skills required
• Working knowledge of DNS, LDAP, AD and Single Sign On (SSO)
• Some knowledge of Linux
• Working knowledge of networking infrastructure, design and maintenance.
Desired Skills ? Some knowledge of web enabled mobility tools like Goodlink or Blackberry a plus.
? Experience in SQL database and applications, middleware and Firewalls are a plus.
? Working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of office tools.
Experience in VMWare Technologies/Lab Manager a plus.
