Position Overview:
As the Senior Director of Infrastructure Architecture & Operations, you will be responsible for Management of all global networks, data communications infrastructure, security, computing equipment, related vendors and IT staff. The Director of Infrastructure will be responsible for designing, building, implementing, and managing products and solutions for Bullhorn’s production environment, while ensuring 24/7 availability. In addition to core management responsibilities, The Director of Infrastructure must be aggressively creative and technologically bold. More than a conventional steward of a production environment, the right candidate will possess a mix of pragmatism, creativity, solid management skills and technical depth to maximize Bullhorn’s market potential.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the Bullhorn application and be able to tie the design and implementation of infrastructure to the particular application component.
- Assist in developing strategies for hiring, training, development & succession planning
- Oversee management & oversight of Infrastructure project prioritization & execution
- Capacity planning and specifying required system hardware and network connectivity prior to the rollout of new infrastructure initiatives
- Lead the rollout of new infrastructure to support enhancements to the Bullhorn application platform
- Collaborate on the integration of physical and application architecture through close teamwork with software architects, application developers and operations teams
- Assist in the coordination of new product deployment and enhancement projects, ensuring preparedness in servicing the product
- Responsibility for defining and managing the change management process related to both hardware and software in the production environment.
- Responsible for the security and overall robustness of the physical architecture.
- Document technical environments, processes and procedures, testing plans, project plans.
- Assist in the daily maintenance of the production application environment
- Ensure 24/7 availability of the production application environment
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and services that will help Bullhorn maintain its technical edge
Job Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field required
- Must have twelve + years of hands on networking, systems architecture, support and operations experience including:
- Network administration and systems architecture, as well as hardware and software troubleshooting
- Operational experience in "Software as a Service" (SaaS) environment with intimate knowledge of architectural methodologies.
- SAN technologies
- Must have 10+ years experience managing an Infrastructure team
- Must have high proficiency in the Windows 2003 Server and Unix/Linux Operating Systems
- Experience with EMC SAN solutions a plus
- Must have experience performing capacity planning activities and hardware sizing for J2EE applications.
- Solid experience on one or more of the following J2EE environments: Weblogic, Websphere, JBoss
- Application development experience a plus.
- Must have demonstrated experience architecting and integrating systems in multi-user, multi-platform, multi-tasking operating systems environments (e.g., Unix, Linux, Windows 2K3)
- Experienced in site/application optimization, recovery strategies and implementation of high availability infrastructure
- Must have demonstrated understanding and practical experience with network security design and security principles.
- Must have demonstrated ability of high degree of independence and exercising sound judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving a variety of duties, which are often characterized by frequent changes
- Ability to visualize and implement breakthrough process improvements
- Excellent customer service skills, addressing the needs of both the external and internal customer
- Prior experience managing strategic vendor relationships
- Must have exceptional organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills.
