POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager of Information Security & Networking leads a group of information security, networking and telecommunications analysts, administrators, and technicians, plans and leads related communications infrastructure projects, serves as a liaison between Information Services and its internal business customers and external technology/service providers, and provides technical leadership on a variety of information security, networking and data center tools and technologies.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supervises information security and networking group made up of information security specialists and network/telecommunications system administrators/technicians who provide installation, configuration, security, operational, customer, and performance monitoring services for Draper's complex LAN, WAN, and telecommunications (voice, voice mail, mobile, videoconferencing) infrastructure. Mentors, develops, reviews and counsels employees on performance and career growth.
* Directs operational support of Draper's central and remote computer facilities, including system operations/backup, facilities monitoring, and coordination with Draper's Facility organization.
* Develops and maintains balanced approach to information security that maximizes flexible access to information systems for employees, customers and business partners while minimizing overall risks. Develops information security policies and standards, monitors and evaluates security risks, determines and efficiently delivers timely correction actions, regularly evaluates relevant technologies, and participates in employee awareness education.
* Create plans and budgets for and provides project management for infrastructure projects such as hardware/software upgrades and installations, as well as coordinating efforts of administrators/technicians with other groups within Information Services and with internal customers and external vendors. Develops architectural guidelines and creates long-range plans (including capital investments and capacity planning) for evolution and growth of Draper's networking and telecommunications infrastructure.
* Lead technical work on firewall and related information security systems, networking performance monitoring, and data center operations technologies. Develop IS staff skills by mentoring them on new technologies and methodologies. Establish relevant standard processes and procedures for IS; review and ensure adherence to these standards.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Standard office environment. Off-hours and weekend support work occasionally required, with upwards of 5-10% travel also needed.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Ten years relevant experience in Information Technology operations, including deployment, maintenance, and customer service support of enterprise networking, computing, and telephony environments. Five years of personnel management experience. Hold current CISSP certificate. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or related field.
