Currently, we are searching for a Sr. Director, Infrastructure Operations. This position will be located in our Wilmington, MA headquarters.

About the Opportunity:

The Senior Director, IT Infrastructure Operations will lead the IT services function across our enterprise, reporting to directly to our CIO.  As the functional leader of 30 associates, the Sr Dir will lead the strategy and deployment of our small IT services team.  The Sr Dir will be a technical leader with demonstrated success leading and meeting the needs for enterprise network architecture, security, maintenance and infrastructure.

Target responsibilities include:

Environment: small IT Services function: 30 associates, including those who are assigned to each Accellent site (each site is assigned one IT service representative) and will be rresponsible for that site’s IT infrastructure environment (desktop, laptop, BB, phone, video).

• Responsibilities include: network infrastructure maintenance, 24 x 7 application operations, help desk, readiness/availability, voice, data, video, user account adds/terminations.


• SVP IT Services, 5 direct reports (including incumbent position)


• Sr DIr will be a key information officer, second to our CIO (SVP IT).


• Technical environment: Oracle ERP, MRP, Manufacturing, Hyperion; MS Office Suite (Outlook, Exchange, Excel), SQL


• Environment: Dell desktops, laptops, BB, NPLS network, KABA Time & Attendance vendor packaged software, CAD, Solid Works Engineering work stations


• Candidate needs to understand the “bits and bites” of network architecture and systems security.


• Candidate will be responsible for maintaining IT infrastructure availability on a daily basis, proactively troubleshoot issues, take immediate action to fix issues and decrease system downtime.


• Must have experience negotiating with IT support vendors, licensing agreements, technology upgrades.


• Strong project management experience and the ability to manage remote staff.


• Strong, effective verbal and written communications. Ability to communicate to all levels of an organization.


• Strong customer service, customer focus, ability to provide service to all levels of the organization.

• Demonstrated success in full-life cycle vendor management (negotiation to management)


• Demonstrated success in project management, managing and improving client satisfaction and excellent intra-organizational communication skills.


• Industry experience: FDA regulated, manufacturing (medical device preferred), aerospace.


• Candidate must have ability to work within a set budget, be creative with acquiring IT services, upgrades, and license fee agreements at competitive prices.


• Required Travel: minimum 25% national, international.


• Bachelor of Science degree in related discipline, advanced degree desired.
