Description

Sr SW Tester, Possessing web testing, ASP.NET, SQL Server and MS Team Studio,

Our client in Cambridge MA has an immediate requirement for a senior level Software Test lead.  The qualified candidate will be a key contributor in providing test and build procedures for a new Web based system used to store and retrieve  information and documents.  This application is being developed as part of an enterprise suite of applications which will be developed over the next several years.

The application is being developed using Microsoft SQL Server 2008, C# and the .NET 3.5 Framework using  Microsoft Team Foundation Server and Visual Studio Team System (VSTS)  2008.  The successful candidate should possess 5 years or more testing experience on Web based applications being developed with Microsoft tools, as well as a demonstrated ability to create detailed test specifications and test plans.

Essential Job Functions

Performs highly complex testing and analyzes network systems development including integration, systems testing, interoperability testing, field test plans and customer acceptance plans to maintain the credibility/viability of the system.

Investigates and resolves highly complex operational matters of significance in conjunction with other engineering and technical support to ensure cost effective and efficient resolution of problems.

Provides technical expertise and guidance in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of test processes and diagnostic programs for system testing.

Consults with clients on highly complex systems; determines systems requirements; recommends processes and/or programs, coordinates project team and follows through on implementation.

Reviews cost analyses and vendor product comparisons to ensure cost effective and efficient operations. Recommends significant product investment(s) to management. Acts as liaison with outside suppliers in establishing or modifying specifications for purchased items.

Provides complex technical expertise to engineering management in the development, maintenance and refinement of internal quality control and reliability programs.

Reviews literature, patents and current practices to support business requirements and/or new industry technology. Prepares reports and/or recommendations regarding new technology to senior management.

Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.

 Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field preferred

Nine or more years of  testing experience

Experience working with computer systems and their uses

Experience working with telecommunications systems and their principles

Experience working with protocol system testing

Experience working with scripting languages such as TCL, PERL, HP, etc

Experience working with operating systems

Experience working with protocols and technologies such as HTTP, SSL, FTP, SMTP, POP3, etc.

Other Qualifications

6+ years of test experience using Microsoft development, test and configuration management tools as well as Microsoft SQL Server.

Experience with enterprise service architecture a definite plus

Experience testing Web based database applications.

Candidate will be required perform adhoc database queries using the MS SQL Server Management console

Automated test experience with VSTS Test Suite 2008 a definite plus.

Candidate must also have the communication and technical writing skills necessary to produce formal test specifications and test plans 

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Strong time management, priority allocation and task management skills

Strong presentation skills to present test results to individuals and groups

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
